God is calling us hypocrites as well. That’s what Isaiah 29:13 is describing. We pretend to love Him with all our heart, but we’ve boiled the relationship down to man-made rules directing us to be ‘good.’ Such hypocrisy!
Only doing ‘good’ insults God. It probably irritates Him as well. Frustration as well? Sure.

A person commits an offending event against you. No punishing consequence follows. No justice is served. You have two choices. You can lapse into resentment and use many actions to communicate your resentment. Whatever actions you use are all forms of manipulation.

I offended two people without knowing I had done so. Both of them, throughout the years, carried significant grudges against me. Did those grudges affect my life in any way? How effective has their grudges against me succeeded in demoralizing me or casting dark shadows in my life?

You are a married couple. Would it be healthier for your marriage if you both learned to deal with your anger in a ministerial way? Or are you content to anxiously wait for the next stormy argument?

God has not called me to be a recluse. He has called me to bear righteous fruit. In order to bear righteous fruit, I have to be around people. Such a bummer! Why can’t I bear righteous fruit by myself?

I have enough money in my checking account that I can give April all kinds of things: new tennis shoes, a meal at McDonald’s, a trip to Des Moines. You name it, and I can write a check up to the amount of $74.83. But what’s the utmost treasure I could give her if it was within my power?

Parent A says, “No way. Bunch of malarkey.” Parent B says, “This is wisdom from God. I will follow His ‘way’ and walk that road with my child.” Which parent has the best chance of creating the ‘easy yolk’ for himself and his child?

Mankind has devised over 4,000 religions according to one study. A quick perusal of those religions establishes that they can’t all be right. In fact, only one can be right. It’s illogical that there would be, say, 17 different ways to obtain eternal life. Out of the 4,000, which 17 would be the correct 17? The 17 largest religions? The 17 religions all beginning with the letter ‘W?’
