Googolplex is the largest named number. Imagine the number ‘1’ followed by more zeroes than you can count out loud, not even in thirty thousand years. Not even in the time it takes your wife to get ready to go out for supper.
Agapao is the highest form of love. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) Agapao is the amazing love of self-sacrifice so that someone else can benefit even though you will not.
1 Corinthians 13, often called the ‘Love Chapter,’ describes perfectly the equation of Googolplex minus Agapao equaling 0. For math experts: (G-A=0)
The first verse of the ‘Love Chapter’: “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or clanging symbol.” Suppose you were the greatest orator ever. You were the Googolplex orator, greater than Winston Churchill or Martin Luther King, Jr. Yet when you spoke, you did so without any love at all. Your stature as the Googolplex orator goes to zero. You become nothing more than a noisy gong or clanging symbol.
Verse 2 points to the same equation: “If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” If you were the Googolplex of prophets, able to predict every mystery to be revealed (like the exact time your wife would be ready to go out for supper), yet possessed no love, the wealth and height of your prophetic knowledge goes to zero.
The common denominator in both verses is the love of self-sacrifice. Without it, no matter the height of the talent, the talent always ends up equal to zero. This obviously applies to the real world as well.
Suppose all of the wives in the neighborhood envied your wife because you were the husband of husbands. You were the Googolplex husband. But you didn’t love your wife. So your wife goes to the neighborhood wives and says, “You all think he’s the best husband because he takes out the trash, he opens doors for me, and he watches chick-flicks with me without falling asleep.”
Your wife pauses, setting up her punchline. Meanwhile, the neighborhood wives are smiling and nodding their heads. A wife in the back yells out, “Don’t forget. He lets you take forever in getting ready to go out for supper.” Then comes your wife’s sad punchline. “But he doesn’t love me.”
Your Googolplex husband-rating just plummeted to zero.
This quick descent in score applies to every relationship a person has. Leave out love and the relationship could never be what was wonderfully possible.
Gloriously, the reverse is just as true. Bring selfless love to a relationship, and it mushrooms into one of the best relationships a person could ever desire. That provides this equation: Relationship + Agapao = Googolplex Relationship! (R + A =GR!)
The shining example is Jesus. Our relationship with Him + His Agapao love for us equals the most incredible relationship ever possible.
Our relationship with Him fills us with joy and peace. The breadth and depth of our relationship with Him knows no boundaries.
Listen to the selfless love flowing from His voice: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
